Clearview KY Skilled Nursing Facility Holdco, LLC took ownership on July 1, 2021.

For the same period, Chautauqua Health and Rehabilitation received a one-star overall CMS rating, falling below the Kentucky state nursing home average of 3.0. CMS ratings assess nursing homes on health inspection standards, staffing adequacy, and the quality of resident care.

Data shows the nursing home served an average of 121.2 residents each day in the first quarter of 2026 and offered 145 beds. The facility is not affiliated with a hospital.

U.S. Census Bureau estimates indicate the U.S. older adult population is expanding, while younger age groups decline. Americans age 65 and older grew by 13% between 2020 and 2024, in contrast to a 1.7% decrease for those under 18. Over the past 100 years, the population of older adults rose significantly, from 4.9 million in 1920 to more than 61 million in 2024.

A study from 2021 estimates that nearly half of the nation’s seniors, or approximately 28 million people, could need long-term support or services. It also predicts that more than one-third may eventually require care in a nursing home.

“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
