House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) released a statement following Dr. Kevin O’Connor’s decision to plead the Fifth Amendment during his deposition.

“It’s clear there was a conspiracy to cover up President Biden’s cognitive decline after Dr. Kevin O’Connor, Biden’s physician and family business associate, refused to answer any questions and chose to hide behind the Fifth Amendment,” stated Chairman Comer. He emphasized the demand for transparency from the American public and criticized Dr. O’Connor’s choice to withhold information.

Chairman Comer noted that Dr. O’Connor invoked the Fifth when questioned about whether he had been instructed to lie regarding President Biden’s health and fitness for office. “Congress must assess legislative solutions to prevent such a coverup from happening again,” he added, indicating that further interviews with White House aides would continue in pursuit of answers.
