As part of an ongoing investigation into alleged cover-ups of President Joe Biden’s mental decline and potentially unauthorized executive actions, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer has taken further steps to expand the inquiry. On June 4, 2025, Chairman Comer sent letters to five former senior White House aides, requesting their presence for transcribed interviews.

Chairman Comer stated, “The American people deserve full transparency and the House Oversight Committee is conducting a thorough investigation to provide answers and accountability. The cover-up of President Biden’s mental decline is one of the greatest scandals in our nation’s history. These five former senior advisors were eyewitnesses to President Biden’s condition and operations within the Biden White House. They must appear before the House Oversight Committee and provide truthful answers about President Biden’s cognitive state and who was calling the shots.”

The investigation references claims from a book titled “Original Sin,” which suggests that multiple individuals were effectively running the country while President Biden served as a figurehead. Previously, subpoenas had been issued for key White House aides Annie Tomasini, Anthony Bernal, and Ashley Williams, along with a request for an interview with Dr. Kevin O’Connor, President Biden’s physician. The White House did not comply with these requests.

Chairman Comer has renewed his request for transcribed interviews with Dr. O’Connor and former aides Tomasini, Bernal, Williams, and Neera Tanden. He expects voluntary compliance but has indicated that subpoenas will be issued if necessary.

Letters have been sent to:

– Michael Donilon, former Senior Advisor to the President
– Anita Dunn, former Senior Advisor to the President for Communications
– Ronald Klain, former Chief of Staff
– Bruce Reed, former Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy
– Steve Ricchetti, former Counselor to the President
