James Comer, a U.S. Congressman representing Kentucky’s 1st district since 2016, recently addressed several issues through his social media platform. Known for his tenure in the Kentucky House of Representatives from 2001 to 2012 and as an alumnus of Western Kentucky University, Comer has actively engaged with national political concerns.

On May 19, Comer announced that he and Senator Joni Ernst are demanding a probe into the Department of Defense’s taxpayer-funded charges at entertainment venues. He stated, “The Pentagon’s inspector general found 3,246 transactions on federal credit cards that occurred at bars, nightclubs, and casinos.” This call for investigation highlights concerns over fiscal responsibility within government spending.

On May 20, Comer discussed former President Trump’s inquiry regarding the use of an autopen in Joe Biden’s administration. He remarked on social media, “President Trump is asking the right question: Who authorized and controlled the autopen in Joe Biden’s White House?” Comer emphasized that this issue represents “the biggest cover-up in American history” and noted that senior aides have been identified by GOP oversight for further questioning.

In another update posted on May 21, Comer revealed that the Department of Justice has initiated an investigation into Andrew Cuomo’s handling of COVID-19 cases in nursing homes during his tenure as New York Governor. According to Comer’s statement, “This comes after @GOPoversight caught Cuomo red-handed lying to Congress and resent a criminal referral to Attorney General Pam Bondi last month.” He concluded with a call for Cuomo’s prosecution.
