Congressman James Comer of Kentucky recently acknowledged Jackson Boone, a student from Marshall County, for completing a spring internship in his Washington D.C. office. Boone’s responsibilities included assisting with Capitol tours, addressing constituent inquiries, and researching legislation.
“Jackson was an invaluable member of my Washington, D.C. office this spring, and I want to express my gratitude for his exceptional service to Kentucky’s 1st Congressional District. His contributions were vital in supporting both my team and countless Kentuckians. I’m excited to witness the bright future that awaits him and look forward to following his continued success,” Congressman Comer stated.
Boone is pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering at Baylor University and participates actively in Baylor Ambassadors. Reflecting on his experience, Boone commented, “This internship has allowed me many opportunities to grow in my professional career and improve my flexibility and adaptability. It was always interesting coming in to work for Congressman Comer because you never knew who would walk through the door.”
Internships in Comer’s office are available during fall, spring, or summer semesters for college students. Interns may be tasked with answering phones, running errands, researching legislation, attending hearings and briefings, and responding to constituent letters on various issues before the House.
