House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Chairman James Comer, along with Subcommittee Chairmen Eric Burlison and Nancy Mace, have expressed support for President Trump’s new plan to strengthen U.S. leadership in artificial intelligence (AI). The White House has introduced “Winning the AI Race: America’s AI Action Plan,” which includes over 90 federal policy initiatives focused on accelerating innovation, building American AI infrastructure, and advancing U.S. leadership in global diplomacy and security.
Chairman James Comer stated, “President Trump’s bold leadership has once again delivered a transformative vision for America’s future in artificial intelligence.” He emphasized the importance of maintaining technological superiority and reducing barriers in the AI field to ensure America’s international dominance.
Subcommittee Chair Eric Burlison remarked that under President Trump’s guidance, America is taking significant steps to secure global dominance in AI by removing bureaucratic obstacles. He noted that America’s talent and resources are crucial for leading in AI but required presidential vision to highlight its significance for future prosperity.
Nancy Mace highlighted the reshaping of regulatory frameworks and investment in infrastructure as essential components of President Trump’s AI Action Plan. She stressed the need to address existing challenges so that the government can fully benefit from this technology.
