Construction permits authorized on U.S. multi-family homes in July increase over previous month

Re 14

The total number of multi-family homes approved for construction in July 2020 in the United States was 43,300, compared to 39,700 for June, according to figures released jointly by the U.S. Census Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Unadjusted statistics are gathered from the Census Bureau’s Building Permits Survey and the Survey of Construction.

The surveys provide current national and regional data on the construction of new privately owned housing units authorized by building permits.

The results provide insight on the nation’s current economic activity, and are used by business and industry stakeholders to help gauge supply and demand.
