First Christian Church Renews Partnership with the OCTC Foundation
First Christian Church has renewed its partnership with the OCTC Foundation, Inc. to provide student scholarships at Owensboro Community and Technical College (OCTC). Their generosity will support student success and offer assistance to underrepresented minority students with refugee status.
"The renewed generosity of First Christian Church provides amazing opportunities for our students. Scholarships ensure students have the tools they need to overcome barriers and achieve their educational goals.", said Mike Rodgers, OCTC Foundation Executive Director and Chief Institutional Officer for OCTC.
First Christian Church's gift of $9,000 will provide scholarships that will be awarded during the 2023-2024 academic year at OCTC and demonstrates their commitment to changing lives in our community.
"We are thankful to be able to support these students with gifts from our Legacy Fund," said Rev. Chris Michael, Senior Minister at the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Owensboro, Kentucky. "OCTC does an outstanding job teaching and training people for our workforce and community. We are grateful partners in this endeavor with students and the school."
Dr. Scott Williams, OCTC President commented, "We are truly appreciative for the continued partnership of First Christian Church. Education opens many doors and provides valuable opportunities. Through this partnership, we can have a greater impact and continue to change lives."
