House Committee on Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) has revealed evidence of a direct payment made to President Joe Biden. The committee obtained bank records that showed a $200,000 payment from James and Sara Biden to Joe Biden in the form of a personal check. This payment raises questions about the President's involvement in his family's financial dealings and their potential influence peddling.

The payment in question occurred on March 1, 2018. James Biden, the President's brother, had received $600,000 in loans from Americore, a financially distressed rural hospital operator. These loans were reportedly obtained based on the representation that James Biden's last name, 'Biden,' could open doors and secure investments from the Middle East due to his political connections. On the same day that Americore wired a $200,000 loan into James and Sara Biden's personal bank account, James Biden wrote a $200,000 check from the same account to Joe Biden.

Chairman Comer emphasized the importance of this direct payment and called on President Biden to answer questions regarding his involvement. He stated, "Even if this was a personal loan repayment, it's still troubling that Joe Biden's ability to be paid back by his brother depended on the success of his family's shady financial dealings."

The House Committee on Oversight and Accountability will continue its investigation into the Biden family's bank records. Chairman Comer highlighted some immediate questions that President Biden must address. These include whether the President has documents proving that he lent a large sum of money to his brother and what the terms of that financial arrangement were. Additionally, the committee seeks clarity on whether President Biden had similar financial arrangements with other family members that led to similar large payments. It is also important to ascertain whether the President was aware that James Biden had received a loan for the exact same amount from a financially distressed company before writing him a check.

The release of these bank records is just the beginning of the committee's investigation. Chairman Comer stated, "The bank records don't end here. There is more to come." The committee plans to announce its next investigative actions soon.
