Winter volleyball leagues will begin soon. Owensboro Parks & Recreation is offering a youth, instructional league called Little Spikers for second - fifth grade students and an adult, coed league for individuals ages 16 and up. Both programs will be hosted at the Owensboro Parks & Recreation Administrative Center gymnasium located at 1530 McJohnson Avenue.
Little Spikers Youth Instructional Volleyball League
Little Spikers is a coed, instructional volleyball league designed to teach fundamentals and knowledge of the game. Players practice on Tuesdays or Thursdays, and show what they learn on Saturdays during scheduled matches. The season will end with a single-elimination tournament on March 27 and 28. The registration fee is $102 per player, plus tax. The fee includes participation, shirt, coaches and a free volleyball. Kentuckiana Skills Academy will lead the practices and provide experienced coaches. Register your child by calling 270-687-8700 or online at owensboroparks.org. Winter Adult Co-Ed Recreational Volleyball
Join us for the 2024 Adult Coed Volleyball Leagues this winter. Each team will play a 10-game schedule with a single elimination tournament wrapping up the season. Regular season matches will begin Monday, January 8. Matches will take place each Monday night.
Registration is open through Friday, December 1. The fee is $185 per team and is due at the time of registration. Players age 16 and 17 must have a consent form signed by their legal guardian (no more than two players under 18 per roster). Each team roster must consist of at least 8 players with 2 players being female per team. You may register in person at the Owensboro Parks and Recreation Administrative Center or over the phone by calling 270-687-8700.
