The Owensboro Parks & Recreation Department has teamed up with Townsquare Media to host a Skate for St. Jude event, on Thursday, January 4 at the Edge Ice Center.

The event will act as a double kick-start to the Edge Ice Center’s bi-weekly Thursday evening skating sessions, which will take place through March, and also for the WBKR annual St. Jude fundraising campaign. The Country Station, 92.5 WBKR has been a St. Jude Country Cares station for nearly twenty years.

Session times are 6:00-8:00 p.m. Admission and skate rental are $7.00 per person and $2.00 for non-skating parents or guardians. $4.00 from every admission will go to St. Jude. Tickets may also be purchased in advance at owensboroparks.org.

Throughout the season, local schools can host Family Fun Nights during the Thursday night sessions as fundraisers for their Family Resource Centers.

“The Thursday night sessions are a wonderful opportunity for families to spend quality time together at the ‘Coolest Place in Town’ while also supporting a great cause,” said Kerry Bodenheimer.
