WASHINGTON—House Committee on Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) minced no words in his assessment of President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address. Comer declared, "No amount of spin from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue can change the fact that America is in decline after three years of Joe Biden’s presidency. Americans can see it with their own eyes. On day one in office, President Biden signaled to the world that our border was open."
Comer went on to criticize President Biden's economic policies, stating, "President Biden’s failed ‘Bidenomics’ has led to stubborn inflation that continues to eat into Americans’ paychecks as the prices of food, rent, and energy remain high." He also pointed out the impact of Biden's decisions on law enforcement, noting, "And President Biden’s policies, including his veto of our bill to protect police officers in D.C., have perpetuated the crime crisis in our nation."
In conclusion, Comer emphasized the commitment of House Republicans to opposing what he referred to as "President Biden’s radical America Last agenda." He affirmed, "House Republicans will continue to fight for a prosperous, free, and safe country for all Americans."
