James Comer discusses congressional roles and local postal issues

Rep. James Comer, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Kentucky's 1st district since 2016, has been active on social media sharing updates about congressional appointments and issues concerning his constituents.

On December 9, 2024, Rep. Comer expressed his support for his colleague, "I want to congratulate my colleague and friend @RepGuthrie on being selected to serve as Chairman of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce in the 119th Congress! This is well-deserved and I look forward to working with Rep. Guthrie and @HouseCommerce next year."

The following day, December 10, he announced his own reappointment as chairman of a key committee: "COMER has been selected to serve again as Chairman of the House Oversight Committee for the 119th Congress. 'Americans have made it clear they want President Trump and Congress to clean up the federal government and make it more accountable to them.'"

Later that day, Comer addressed concerns regarding postal service operations affecting Western Kentucky residents: "The people of Western Kentucky have not been immune to Postal Service problems that seem to stem from efforts to change USPS operations. The Postal Service must focus on achieving financial self-sufficiency & improve their service operations."
