Representative Anna Paulina Luna, who chairs the Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets, has updated efforts to declassify significant federal documents. Luna sent a letter to key officials including Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and Attorney General Pam Bondi, seeking updates on plans to declassify records as per President Trump's executive order. This order concerns documents related to the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy, Senator Robert F. Kennedy, and Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Luna requested briefings for February 26 and March 17 regarding these records' declassification. She also asked for a specific date when these documents will be available to both the task force and the public.

"All federal agencies are cooperating with the Task Force and will provide the requested briefings in the coming weeks," stated Rep. Luna. She emphasized their commitment to transparency as they prepare for their first hearing on March 26 concerning JFK's assassination.

On February 11, House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Chairman James Comer and Luna sent letters requesting briefings by February 18 from several agencies about various topics including JFK's assassination, COVID-19 origins, unidentified phenomena, 9/11, and the Epstein client list.

The task force's first hearing is scheduled for March 26 and will be open to public attendance and media coverage.

President Trump signed an executive order on January 23 mandating full release plans for records concerning JFK's assassination by February 7, with further plans for Robert Kennedy's and Dr. King's records by March 9.
