Comeback Win Propels Bearcats To 6-6

The Brescia University Men's Basketball team came away with a 78-67 win over the Mighty Oaks of Oakland City University. They extend their record to 9-7 overall and 6-6 in conference play.

The Bearcats wasted no time after the tip as they found themselves at a 9-2 advantage over the Mighty Oaks early. A layup by newcomer Justin Brown would give the Bearcats the 21-15 lead. The Mighty Oaks would then go on a 8-2 run to take their first lead of the night. Going into the half, missed shots seemed to be the Bearcats' demise as they trail to OCU, 34-26.

In the second half, the Bearcats would begin their full court pressure as they force the Oaks into turnovers. With 15 minutes left, the Bearcats would start to chip away at the lead as they go on a 12-0 run to take the lead by one. BU would continue to pull away from OCU as two Elijah Pughsley free throws extend the Bearcat lead to 14. Despite OCU's efforts to foul and get the ball back, the Bearcats would take the comeback win, 78-67.

Elijah Pughsley led the Brescia scoring with 20 points, 4 assists, and 3 rebounds as Tay Smith follows with 15 points and 6 rebounds. Javion Johnson 14 points and 2 rebounds.
