House Committee on Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer has issued subpoenas to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) and the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention. The action follows a refusal to provide information requested by the Committee concerning potential collaboration between the Biden-Harris Administration and anti-Second Amendment plaintiffs in the ongoing case City of Chicago v. Glock et al.

Comer expressed concerns about a meeting held on December 20, 2023, between representatives from Glock and the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention. "The Committee has learned that on December 20, 2023, the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention met privately with representatives from Glock," Comer wrote to Director Feldman. He further questioned whether there was an abuse of authority or ethical violations in colluding with outside parties.

Initial requests for documents were made on June 14, 2024. However, according to Comer, no responsive documents have been received. Comer noted communication between Deputy Director Rob Wilcox and plaintiff's counsel as part of these concerns: “Having been informed by a whistleblower that you communicate on a daily basis with White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention Deputy Director Rob Wilcox via mobile device(s)...”

The subpoena demands unredacted documents from September 22, 2023, onwards related to specific topics such as "auto sear(s)" and "Chicago litigation." It also requires communications involving Deputy Director Rob Wilcox and Everytown for Gun Safety President John Feinblatt.

Similarly, ATF is required to produce all relevant messaging communications involving Deputy Director Rob Wilcox along with logs of phone calls between specified numbers associated with officials within the office.

Further details are available in letters addressed to Stefanie Feldman at the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention and Steven Dettelbach at ATF.
