Select subcommittee to mark up final COVID-19 report on December 4

Chairman Brad Wenstrup of Ohio will lead a markup session for the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic's final report on December 4, 2024. This session marks the conclusion of a two-year investigation mandated by the 118th Congress to examine policies and decisions related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Select Subcommittee has been involved in extensive investigative work, which includes sending over 100 letters, conducting more than 30 interviews or depositions, holding 25 hearings or meetings, and reviewing over one million pages of documents. The final report will cover several key areas: origins of COVID-19, taxpayer-funded relief programs, laws enacted during the pandemic, vaccine development and implementation, economic impacts on various sectors, societal impacts such as school closures, executive branch decisions related to COVID-19, and cooperation between the executive branch and Congress in preventing future pandemics.

Before the markup session, which is scheduled for December 4 at 10:30 AM ET in room 2247 of the Rayburn House Office Building, the subcommittee will release its final report to the public. The event is open to both press and public attendees and will be available via livestream at https://oversight.house.gov/.
