Rep. James Comer, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Kentucky’s 1st district since 2016, shared a series of tweets addressing government spending and transparency issues. Comer's statements reflect his commitment to tackling wasteful expenditures and enhancing governmental transparency.

On February 11, 2025, Rep. Comer highlighted financial concerns by stating that "The government has lost $2.7 TRILLION because of improper payments." He emphasized that fraudsters and organized criminals have misappropriated taxpayer funds meant for those truly in need of assistance. He affirmed that the @GOPoversight committee will engage in a "War on Waste" to safeguard American taxpayers.

Later that day, he announced a new initiative by mentioning Rep. Luna's commitment to transparency: "@RepLuna is committed to shining a light on the truth and ending the era of secrecy in Washington." Comer expressed confidence in her leadership of the Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets.

On February 12, 2025, Comer tweeted about attending an oversight subcommittee hearing, noting that with "a staggering $37 trillion national debt," there is no time to waste in combating financial inefficiencies and misuse of taxpayer money.
