Rep. James Comer, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Kentucky’s 1st district, shared a series of tweets on March 18, 2025, discussing recent developments involving IRS whistleblowers and transparency initiatives related to the Trump administration. Comer has been an active political figure since replacing Ed Whitfield in 2016 and has a background in both state and federal legislative roles.

In his first tweet on March 18, Rep. Comer announced that "IRS whistleblowers who exposed how the Biden Justice Department engaged in a cover-up to protect the Biden family have been PROMOTED to leadership positions at @USTreasury." He praised these individuals as public servants who will continue their service with honor and courage.

Later that day, Comer tweeted about two specific individuals involved in these disclosures: "Gary Shapley & Joseph Ziegler made lawful disclosures, exposing the corrupt Biden Justice Department." He highlighted the personal and professional challenges they faced from the Biden Administration and expressed pride in supporting them.

In another tweet posted on March 18, Rep. Comer commended efforts for government transparency under President Trump. He stated that "President Trump has the most transparent administration in history." He also recognized @realannapaulina for her collaboration with the Trump Administration on declassifying JFK files and looked forward to continued work by the GOP Oversight Task Force on Declassification.
