The Subcommittee on Delivering on Government Efficiency (DOGE), chaired by Marjorie Taylor Greene, has scheduled a hearing for March 26, 2025. The hearing will feature testimonies from the Chief Executive Officers of National Public Radio (NPR) and Public Broadcasting Service (PBS). Titled “Anti-American Airwaves: Holding the Heads of NPR and PBS Accountable,” the session aims to address concerns regarding alleged biased news coverage by these organizations.
Chairwoman Greene stated that the purpose of the hearing is to question why NPR and PBS should continue receiving public funding. She criticized both organizations for their reporting practices, citing specific instances such as coverage related to Hunter Biden's laptop, COVID-19 origins, and Russian collusion narratives. Greene expressed her intention to collaborate with the Trump Administration to prevent what she describes as misuse of taxpayer funds for partisan purposes.
The hearing is set to take place at HVC-210 at 10:00 AM ET. Katherine Maher from NPR and Paula Kerger from PBS are expected to testify. Media representatives planning to attend must RSVP by March 25 at noon ET.
