House Committee on Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer has announced a full committee markup scheduled for November 20, 2024, at 10:30 am ET. The session will take place in the Rayburn House Office Building and will be open to the public and press. It will also be livestreamed online.

The committee will consider several pieces of legislation during this markup. Among them is H.R. 9491, the Presidential Library Donation Reform Act, which mandates that presidential library fundraising organizations maintain records of donors contributing over $1200 and share this information quarterly with the Archivist of the United States. This data must then be published by the National Archives.

H.R. 10133, known as the Timely Stock Disclosure Act, proposes amendments to stock trading disclosure requirements for high-ranking government officials including the President and Vice-President. Another bill on the agenda is H.R. 10132, the Federal Agency Performance Act, aimed at enhancing transparency and accountability within federal agencies.

Additionally, H.R. ____, titled the Financial Management Risk Reduction Act, seeks to improve single audit requirements for recipients of substantial federal financial assistance awards and enhance oversight of federal funding.

Other bills include H.R. 9040, which calls for a review of transferring financial risks from certain federal programs to private sector insurance markets; H.R. 10134, which aims to improve natural disaster resilience and recovery efforts; and H.R. 10062, which ensures nonprofit meetings in D.C. are not classified as doing business there.

The Stop Secret Spending Act (H.R. 8690) introduces new reporting requirements for agency spending under USAspending.gov. The Dismantle DEI Act (H.R. 8706) seeks to eliminate diversity, equity, and inclusion programs across government agencies.

Furthermore, H.R. ____, named the Modernizing Data Practices to Improve Government Act, intends to extend functions related to emerging technologies oversight within agencies.

Lastly, H.R. 8753 directs USPS to assign unique ZIP Codes for specific communities.

Post office naming bills will also be considered en bloc during this session.
