House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Chairman James Comer has expressed his views on the recent report released by U.S. Attorney and Special Counsel David Weiss concerning Hunter Biden. The report, which is 27 pages long, has been described by Comer as "incomplete." He attributes this to President Joe Biden's decision to issue a pardon for his son, Hunter Biden.
Comer stated, "Special Counsel David Weiss just released an incomplete 27-page report because President Joe Biden issued his son an unprecedented pardon. This sweeping pardon prevents the Special Counsel from holding Hunter Biden accountable for the international influence peddling racket only made possible by Joe Biden."
The statement further criticizes the Department of Justice under President Biden's administration. Comer remarked, "Let’s be clear: the Biden DOJ was never going to prosecute the Biden Crime Family." He referenced findings from the House Oversight Committee’s investigation that suggest Joe Biden was aware of and benefited from his family's business dealings.
Additionally, Comer highlighted the role of two whistleblowers in revealing alleged misconduct within the DOJ. He said, “Two brave whistleblowers, Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler, blew the whistle on DOJ’s misconduct and politicization in the Hunter Biden criminal investigation and revealed they were prevented from following evidence that could have led to Joe Biden.”
In closing, Comer commented on what he perceives as President Joe Biden's legacy: "Joe Biden will be remembered for using his last few weeks in office to shield his son from the law and protect himself. The president’s legacy is the same as his family’s business dealings: corrupt."
