Representative Anna Paulina Luna, who leads the Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets, praised President Donald Trump and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard for their decision to release files concerning the assassination of Senator Robert F. Kennedy. The release is part of an initiative to increase transparency regarding historical events.
“President Trump and his administration are providing maximum transparency to the American people,” stated Congresswoman Luna. She emphasized the importance of the released files and reaffirmed the task force's ongoing efforts to collaborate with the administration to promote open access to federal secrets.
Earlier this year, on January 23, 2025, President Trump signed Executive Order 14176, titled “Declassification of Records Concerning the Assassinations of President John F. Kennedy, Senator Robert F. Kennedy, and the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.” This executive order marked an attempt to unveil details of events previously hidden from the public eye due to classification. Subsequently, on February 11, 2025, Chairman Comer and Rep. Luna sought further engagement with Trump Administration officials through a request for a briefing on documents related to the executive order.
